"We are preservationists. We
believe that beautiful places are easily destroyed and not easily
replaced. We honor the craft, and the vision and exuberance of old
structures. We believe that America's cities are the soul of our country " Garrison Keillor
Not too long ago a clipping was sent to me, a magazine clipping that talked about a photograph of a beautiful Napa Valley barn taken by Ansel Adams. It was shot 51 years ago and it shows a different place than we see today. We've asked around but can't place this barn ...and chances are it's been demolished. But can you take a look and see if this jogs your memory?....if so, drop us a line right here.
Our Mission While
embracing the past and looking toward the future, to preserve, protect
and build awareness for Napa county’s architectural and cultural
resources through education and advocacy.
Preservation Napa
Valley develops educational programs that
support countywide stewardship of our historic communities. We are
advocates for endangered buildings and the unique agricultural
landscape of Napa.
We believe that the singular beauty, identity and economic engine of Napa County has been and always will be
agriculture. Preservation Napa Valley promotes and supports
preservation activities that have a tangible, positive effect on our
community. We are redefining what preservation can accomplish for Napa
Valley communities, delivering a relevant and collaborative voice as
the City and County grow.
